The woman who George Zimmerman recently assaulted with a wine bottle says that the acquitted killer of Trayvon Martin is a “psychopath.”
Zimmerman was recently arrested in connection with this aggravated assault case in Lake Mary against the woman. The arrest came earlier this month, with many wondering if Zimmerman would finally face a serious effort to convict him on his multitude of violent outbursts.
But State Attorney Phil Archer just announced on Friday that the State will not file formal charges against Zimmerman.
The woman he assaulted was his ex-girlfriend. This is far from the only incident of violence against women that he has been accused of. Each time, this son of a Florida judge has evaded prosecution.
“While it is clear that the officers had probable cause to arrest Mr. Zimmerman, which was affirmed by the circuit court judge at initial appearances, the subsequent recantation by the victim of her initial statement along with new documents provided by the victim and her attorney precludes my office from proceeding further,” State Attorney Archer said.
The prosecutor said that a lack of eyewitnesses or other corroborating evidence which they believe refutes her account, combined to make the decision not to prosecute Zimmerman.
Always quick to come to Zimmerman’s defense, Lake Mary Police Chief Steve Bracknell said that he agreed with Archer’s decision.
